Britney Spears Headstone in Hanoi

Hanoi, vietnam January 30th, 2008

Among all the weird stuff i had encountered in Hanoi, here’s one of them.

They have a street called the ‘Coffin Street’ where you could see whole row of shops selling coffins and headstones.

Continuation from http://www.ceskay.com/2008/01/snippet-from-hanoi/

12) Tour to the temples and pagodas while it drizzles. Darn museum is closed on Mondays…arggghhh!
13) Shopping time in the market.
14) Had crap (weasel shit) coffee at local coffee house and bought some home. *best coffee i ever had!
15) Walk through the street of Hanoi and stuffing our face with street snacks. *super!
16) Damnit… our hotel had a short circuit… in fact the whole block was in the dark.
17) Drinking dirt cheap cold beer at night while watching the busy street of Hanoi streets.

Tomorrow we have to wake up early and rush in hope to catch the changing of the museum guards in wee morning. Have lunch at a non-profit restaurant. Then *sob sob to the airport…

Snippet from Hanoi

I have internet access in my room. How we got from planning a budget trip to now having our own internet access in the hotel room is a long long story but i will keep it for another day.

My first 3 days in Hanoi had been the most awful but amazingly wonderful and lucky one. Here’s a snippet of what had been going on:-

1) Arrived only to find out that it’s the coldest day of the month. Probably below 8 degree Celcius.
2) Spent the night in a budget guesthouse with no heater and no water heater!
3) Got lost in Hanoi when it was raining. *icy cold!
4) Accidentally board on a luxury private junk for half the price. The most expensive boat ride ever!
5) Almost fainted on top of a hill.
6) I saw a giant penis.
7) Back from Halong Bay with no place to spend the night.
8) Stumbled upon a hotel with our very own internet access on cheap price.
9) Been to the busiest ad largest night market i’ve ever been to.
10) Experience eating at the street stalls of Hanoi.
11) Got conned by a adorable 10 year old kid.

Today we’re going on a city tour to temples and all the literature stuffs… and we’re on for a weasal crap hunt *wakakakaka i’m not kidding we really are gonna hunt for some rodent shit!

Traveling Mistake - Hanoi Trip

Hanoi, vietnam January 19th, 2008

The worst mistake of planning a trip is to wrongly speculate the time, second the weather and third the packing. I would know because i had already messed up with two of the above *wtf?.

My initial thought of booking the 6.30am flight is that i would have more time in my hands to get used to the Old Quarters in Hanoi. I would have more time to walk about and visit more places. So, instead of booking the 10am flight i booked the 6.30am. It did not occurred to me that i need to get my fat arse to LCCT 2 hours earlier to check in. Due to that, this Friday i would have to wake up at 3am so i could get to the airport by 4am. * serves me right for being kiasu!!!

I was also all hyped up when i found out about Tets Festival in Hanoi celebrated in the end of January or early February. It’s similar to our Chinese New Year in Malaysia. I was pretty excited that i would be able to see the locals preparing for the festive seasons. Flowers and josstick and all that! *Woo hoo!! Little did i know that in these 2 months there’s not much visitors to the country. Why? Because it’s darn cold out there. I couldn’t believed it when i saw the weather forecast the other day that it was only 16 degrees in Hanoi. I double checked yesterday. My eyes were fine. It’s colder than Genting… -_-”.

Now, i’m not going to make the last mistake. I had made a check list. A very long and extensive one. I’m leaving nothing behind!

Talking bout the trip, i’ve definitely gotta write this down just in case it’s needed as proof in front of the grand jury.

Me: Ei, next week you look out for my package from Chipster ya. They say their going to send me the blogger’s premium by next week.

BlurryHunniee: Why??!! You cannot look out for it yourself meh?
Me: Next Friday i’m not here lar… i go Hanoi ma.
BlurryHunniee: Huh?… You go how many days wor…
Me: 5 days lor.
BlurryHunniee: So long ar…tak biasa lar… don’t go lar…
KidCheng: Yalor later rindu lar… so long… don’t go lar…
Me: Ei hello! It’s 5 days lar. Not that i won’t come back idiots!
KidCheng: Yalar..but still…ei next time we get married, we all leave in same neighbourhood ok.
Me: Ya ya. All leave in Kepong lor.
BlurryHunniee: No No. In Desa Park City!
Me: -_-”

*wakakakaka! Someone please hand me the Good Sister Award!… or get me a super glue disolver.

Whatever it is, i rest my case your honor.
