This is my dream destination.

Rome!

rome

I’ve always dream of traveling to Europe especially to Italy. It’s such a romantic place to be in.

Second on my current list would be Maldives because I heard that the sea levels are quickly rising and is actually threatening the existence of the island country. I would really love to catch a glimpse of the incredible island before it’s too late.

maldives

And all that is of course possible with the November Seat Sale by British Airways. This November Seat Sale is running till 19th November 2009 for travel period November 17, 2009 to May 23, 2010 (please refer to the website for date exclusions). It’s very, very exciting!

Airport Tax Refund

Airlines September 18th, 2009

Last year i booked a flight to Guilin through AirAsia. In fact i’m supposed to be traveling to China with the boyfriend July this year but we decided not to go instead. All of the sudden Guilin didn’t seemed appealing LOL. (Not that it’s not a place worth going. It’s has a rather amazing landscape you know).

So that’s RM700 down the drain.

I was thinking what a waste it was but i know very well that i would not get any refund from GoInsure. The refund is only applicable for certain circumstances such as hospitalization or death of loved ones and etc. But knowing this fact and accepting that i had thrown a few hundred bucks away without any compensation are entirely two different things. I searched the net for loopholes but found none.

I however found out that you could get a airport tax refund for any missed flights.

Now, AirAsia doesn’t advertise the fact that you could get a tax refund, in fact you will only be refunded if you contacted them for this purpose and only via email. Here’s how you do it.

1) Send an email to AirportTaxRefund@airasia.com regarding your request for airport tax refund. In the email include:

a) Payment by credit card:
> The Reservation/ Booking Reference Number

OR

b) Payment by Direct Debit or Cash or Travel Agent:
> The Reservation/ Booking Reference Number
> Bank Account Number
> Bank Name
> Name of Account Holder (Refund can only be given to the person named as a guest in the booking and not to a third party).

Note: The mode of refund will depend on the guest’s original mode of payment when the seat was purchased. The refund can only be given to the person(s) named in the booking and not to a third party, in accordance to the mode of payment for the seat.

2) Wait for acknowledgment within 15 working days.

3) All Airport Tax refunds shall be subjected to a Processing Fee specified in our Fee Schedule.

Under any circumstance that you do not receive any reply from AirAsia, i would suggest to then submit an online feedback form in their “Contact Us” page (as had i) because we all know that AirAsia’s customer service line is always congested and complicated, you have no idea how many buttons i was asked to press in able to get to the wrong department.

This would almost guarantee an acknowledgement within a day or two and your airport tax refund will be debited in your account within 30 working days.

It isn’t much but it’s better than nothing. You could buy a decent jacket with the money you know :P. So, good luck!

Low Fares

Airlines, Reviews, Travel Agency June 9th, 2009

We all love a bargain don’t we? Yes, we do, especially when it comes to traveling. Being a travel bug, i always and proudly thought of myself more of a budget traveler, spending only when it’s absolutely necessary. With that, saving up hopefully for the next destination much sooner than later. Plus it’s only common sense. Would opt for a more expensive airline tickets or a more affordable one given that the comfort level of the cheaper one is actually tolerable? I’ll pick the cheaper ones. No doubts about it.

That is the reason that i check out Low Fares with much interest and anticipation. They offer cheap airline tickets, affordable hotel stays and bargain vacation packages. That’s like heaven for me!

The website is very user friendly so finding out about flights availability and fares is actually a breeze. As i am planning a family trip to China, i thought why don’t i give it a try. All i needed to do is enter the city and airport of departure and also arrival, select the sites that i want to compare and voila! I have the best flight rates i could get my hands on.

Sure beats going through the many websites for comparison to get cheap flights.

Air Asia Free Seats Here I Come

Airlines August 25th, 2008

Air Asia is having another round of giving away 1 million free seats. I am jumping up and down in excitement. The promotion will start tommorrow (that’s 26th August 2008) and ends on 31st August. I guest it’s something in conjunction of the Merdeka’s Day or something.

The promotion covers domestic as well as international destinations. Travel period is on April 2009 till July 2009. That’s few months from my Bangkok and Chiang Mai Trip!

I am itching to go somewhere. LOL. Woo hoo!

I want to give Tony a great big kiss! Muacks!

MAS - Everyday Low Fares

Airlines, Malaysia July 30th, 2008

As pointed out by a reader (Kelly), i had made a mistake by saying that MAS Airlines’ Sub-Zero Fare* is only covering South East Asia Route and that it is a promotion instead of a permanent offer. My bad. In fact, MAS Airlines’ Sub Zero Fare* is not a one time promotional stunt but the campaign is for long term. It also covers a number of nearby destinations besides the South East Asia’s countries such as Brisbane, Bangalore and Shanghai.

mas low fares
Everyday low fares!

This is good news to all. However, i do wish that there are more destinations included.

* Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) raised an issue on the misleading Zero Fare advertisements (in the papers recently) since customer still have to pay for the tax and fuel surcharge. Thus the ticket is not entirely free. I’m not sure if there is any action taken by both MAS and Air Asia. Public MIGHT not see the word “Zero Fare” anymore :).
