Resolution for 2010

Cameron Highlands December 29th, 2009

The new year is coming and it’s time to take out a piece of paper and concentrate hard. New year resolution is often easy to make but not so easy to achieve. So this year, i’ll take small baby steps, one step at a time.

As a personal goal, i’ve set my mind to keep a healthier lifestyle in 2010. As for traveling wise, my new year resolution is to visit Bali in April and in June maybe to Cameron Highlands. Well, Bali isn’t a new year resolution because i’ve bought the tickets since early this year but i’m determine to go to Cameron.

I know i sound really pathetic but… ahem… i’ve never been to Cameron Highlands in my life. It’s in Malaysia, my own country and it’s so near but i’ve always missed the trip whenever friends were planning them. I think i must be the only Malaysian that has yet to be in Cameron LOL. So yeah! 2010 i’m definitely trying to make time for the trip.

The Great Blue Hole

Belize December 22nd, 2009

One of the many spectacular landscape seascape in the world and definitely one of the places i hope to visit.

The Great Blue Hole is located near the center of Lighthouse Reed off the coast of Belize. It’s a large underwater sinkhole off the coast of Belize.

What makes it so amazing is it’s unique shape - assuming the shape of a circular hole, well over 300 metres (984 ft) across and 125 metres (410 ft) deep.
The location was originally formed as a limestone cave system during the last glacial period when sea levels were much lower, the caves flooded and the roof collapsed as the ocean began to rise. Thus the Great Blue Hole is created.

The Great Blue Hole is a World Heritage Site of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Tin Tin & Smurf FDC

world December 15th, 2009

It took us almost half a year to get things sorted with the post office in Belgium. It’s really difficult when we don’t speak Dutch or French and the other side is not fluent in English at all. Making payment to Belgium is as difficult as it can get too.

But it was well worth it. This arrived in the post!

I used to be obsessed with the tiny blue men and now i have the stamps :).

But what made my day was the Tin Tin First Day Covers (the whole set with stamps of every magazine cover) and the First Day Sheet. Bliss :)).

What makes this so special is that the stamps of the Tin Tin magazines are with foreign titles matching the location of the adventure. For example the story in Tibet is with a Tibetan language title and the “Black Gold” story is in German.

A collectors item this is.

Planning for Bali

Bali, Indonesia December 8th, 2009

With the festive season coming it’s difficult to concentrate on anything. Drawing out the itinerary for our Bali trip next year is going on slow. Actually i didn’t get anything done - all the plans now are from the boyfriend. The sister is of no help either.

It will be a 5D4N trip and the second last day is coincidently my birthday, so i’m really looking forward to it. :).

For now the draft goes something like this.

Day 1 - Arrived in the evening around 7pm (or something like that - i forgot the time but it’s definitely in the evening). Settle down then head to pub for a drink.

Day 2 - Walk around and do some shopping before heading to the beach for dinner - Kuta or Geger beach.

Day 3 - Climb mount batur then to spa session at Sang Spa.

Day 4 - MY BIRTHDAY. Explore Ubud and have babi guling and someone better remember my big day so there better be a birthday cake awaiting! Haha.

Day 5 - Back to Kuta for a stroll before going to the airport to catch the departure flight at around 7pm.

Now we just have to finalize the plan and decide on the hotels room and trekking packages.

Up we go!

Venezuela December 2nd, 2009

This is Angel Falls in Venezuela. It’s the world’s highest waterfall, which rises 979 m (3,212 ft) with a drop of about 807m (2,647 ft).

Does it look familiar?

Of course it does. You’ve seen this beautiful scene before.

No, not on travel brochures.

No, not on documentaries either.

Yes, well of course you’ve heard of and seen Angels Fall before… in tele and in print. But i don’t mean that. I meant… ok let me refresh your memory.

Remember now?

It’s the inspiration behind the movie UP.
Told you, you have seen it before didn’t i?? :P
